Where to eat in Barcelona 2026: 10 restaurants worth booking
Barcelona eats late and eats well, and the tourist menus on the Ramblas are the exception, not the rule. These ten places have kept a 4.7 or higher with thousands of reviews, in four neighborhoods and three price levels, from a set lunch menu to one of the best restaurants in the world.
Quick answer
If you book one meal in Barcelona, book Disfrutar in the Eixample: 4.8 out of 5 across 3,807 Google reviews, a tasting menu from about 300 EUR per person and a waiting list of months. For a normal night out, Cera 23 in the Raval holds 4.8 with 6,804 reviews and mains around 20 EUR. For the paella everyone asks about, Colom by the Ramblas has 4.7 across 36,955 reviews.
TL;DR
- Ten restaurants, all 4.7 or higher on Google with at least 1,400 reviews each, checked on 17 September 2026.
- Lunch is from 13:30 to 16:00 and dinner from 20:30. Kitchens on this list close between 23:00 and midnight.
- Book: three of the ten need weeks (Disfrutar, Lasarte) or days (Cera 23) of notice. The rest, the same day for lunch.
- Prices: set lunch menus from about 15 to 25 EUR, dinner mains from 18 to 35 EUR, tasting menus from 250 EUR.
- Tipping is not expected. Bread and a cover charge of 1 to 3 EUR per person are common and legal if listed.
How we ranked this list
We started from the 120 places Google Maps returns for the best restaurants and for restaurants in Barcelona, kept those with 4.7 or more and at least 1,400 reviews, and removed chains, generic steakhouses, brunch bars and places whose review count is far above what their tables could serve, which usually means incentivized reviews. From what was left we kept a mix of four neighborhoods and three price levels. We earn nothing from any of them.
The 10 restaurants, in order
1. Disfrutar
Three chefs who came out of elBulli, three Michelin stars and the number one spot in the World's 50 Best in 2024. Around 30 courses over three hours on Carrer de Villarroel. Reservations open months ahead and go the same day.
2. Lasarte
Martín Berasategui's restaurant inside the Monument Hotel on Carrer de Mallorca, the first in Barcelona to hold three Michelin stars. Quieter and more classic than Disfrutar. Two to four weeks of notice for a table.
3. Cera 23
A small room on Carrer de la Cera in the Raval that locals guard and visitors find through the reviews: 4.8 across 6,804 of them. Market cooking with a black rice that arrives smoking. Book a few days ahead.
4. Arume Restaurant
Galician cooking with Asian technique on Carrer d'en Botella in the Raval: ceviche, rice dishes and seafood that made it one of the most reviewed restaurants in the neighborhood. Lunch is the easy way in.
5. Viana Barcelona
A tiny bar on Carrer del Vidre off Plaça Reial doing tapas with a twist, and doing them so well that 5,209 reviews average 4.8. There are more of you than tables: book, or eat at the counter early.
6. Fa Patxoca
On Carrer dels Mercaders, between the cathedral and Santa Caterina market, Mediterranean plates built for sharing and one of the largest samples on this list: 4.8 across 8,493 reviews. A safe first dinner in the old town.
7. Via Granados Barcelona Restaurant
On Carrer d'Enric Granados, the pedestrian street where the Eixample goes to eat, a brasserie that serves from breakfast to late dinner with a terrace under the trees. The place for a day with no plan.
8. Gran Viana
The bigger sister of Viana on Carrer dels Escudellers, with the highest rating on this list: 4.9 across 3,443 reviews. Same idea, more tables, easier to book for a group.
9. Colom Restaurant
The paella people come to Barcelona asking for, on Carrer dels Escudellers a minute from the Ramblas. Made to order, so count 30 to 40 minutes, and the largest sample in the city: 4.7 across 36,955 reviews.
10. La Alcoba Azul
A candlelit tapas bar with a 4.9 across 1,487 reviews, the highest average on the list. Small plates, good wine by the glass and the kind of place you go back to twice in a week.
Before you book
- Book by phone or on the restaurant's site. Third party apps add fees to some of these and hold fewer tables.
- A restaurant that is open at 19:00 for dinner in Barcelona is usually a tourist restaurant. Locals sit down at 21:00.
- Menú del día is the lunch deal from Monday to Friday: two courses, bread, drink and often dessert for 15 to 25 EUR.
- Card payment is universal, including at bars. Cash is only needed for the smallest tapas counters.
- The Ramblas and the streets right beside La Boqueria are where the worst value in the city is. Walk three streets in any direction.
